Coaches
Alberta Taekwondo membership is mandatory for coaches. Each dojang may register 1 Master, 1 Head Coach and 3 Coaches; additional coaches are $50 per person.

- Get your ATA membership. Alberta Taekwondo membership is mandatory for every athlete; out-of-province athletes register for a free membership.

When and where is the 2026 Calgary Open Taekwondo Championship?
The championship runs on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at the Seven Chiefs Sportsplex & Jim Starlight Centre, 19 Bullhead Rd, Priddis, Alberta T3T 0A6. Doors open at 7:30 am and the first event starts at 9:00 am.
How much does it cost to compete?
Athlete entry is $105 for one event, $115 for two events, and $125 for three or more events, in Canadian dollars. Registrations are non-refundable. Fees are paid by e-transfer to mastercha@redpx.com. An additional coach beyond the dojang allocation is $50 per person.
How much is spectator admission?
Admission is $10 per spectator aged 7 and up, and free for children 6 and under. Spectators pay at the venue by cash or card; no advance booking is needed.
What events are offered?
Black belt only: High Performance Kyorugi and High Performance Sport Poomsae (individual, pairs, teams and freestyle). All belt levels: Recreation Kyorugi and Recreation Poomsae. Athletes may not enter both the high performance and recreation stream for the same event. Coaches register separately using the Coach ticket.
How do I pay the entry fee?
Send an Interac e-transfer to mastercha@redpx.com and record the confirmation number. Payment must reach the organisers by November 8, 2026. Registration itself is completed on DojangPro.
What time should athletes arrive?
Doors open at 7:30 am, the referee meeting is at 8:00 am, the coaches meeting at 8:30 am, and athletes are called to the floor at 8:45 am. Poomsae competition begins at 9:00 am. High performance kyorugi athletes weigh in from 7:45 am.
Can parents go onto the competition floor?
No. Only registered competitors and coaches are permitted on the competition floor; parents and spectators must remain in the designated seating areas.
Do I need to register for an ATA membership?
Yes. Alberta Taekwondo Association membership is mandatory for all athletes and all coaches, and provides liability insurance. Alberta athletes and coaches need an active 2026–27 membership for their belt level; out-of-province athletes and coaches email admin@taekwondoalberta.com for a free membership. You must be an ATA member before registering on DojangPro.
Are there host hotels for competitors?
Yes. Delta Hotels Calgary South offers a group rate of $184 CAD per night for stays from Friday, November 13 to Sunday, November 15, 2026. Book online through the group booking link on the venue and travel page, or call (403) 278-5050 and quote "2026 Calgary Open Tae Kwon Do November 2026". The last day to book is Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
